View Artist's Original Paintings

Limited Editions

(1947 -  )

Jon McIntosh has been a resident of Key West for nearly 12 years. Since 1971 he has been a designer and illustrator for his own company, McIntosh Ink, Inc.

His work has included projects for NASA, pieces for most major educational publishers, audio-visual work, a board game that he invented and marketed, and two syndicated comic strips for Universal Press Syndicate. In previous years his work has been exhibited in numerous shows in Providence, RI; Boston, Martha’s Vineyard, Vieques, Puerto Rico and has just been added to the artists represented by the WH Patterson Gallery in London, England.

McIntosh’s paintings capture his life-long passion for the world of art and his love of the ocean and boats. The images in his works reflect the intensity of his feelings about the sea and easily communicate this passion to the viewer. These pieces magnificently portray the “dreaminess” that is so typical of the water around Key West and the Florida Keys. He also includes works inspired by his travels to the Caribbean, Venezuela and Europe, which present new directions for his art.

Jon’s work is present in many prominent corporate and private collections in the United States and the United Kingdom. Books published by Jon McIntosh include “Hooked on Golf,” “The Foolish Dinosaur Fiasco” and “The Mysterious Zetabet” with Scott Corbett, “Witch Way to the Country” and “Witch Way to the Beach” with Barbara Miranda and “The Longest Hair in the World” with Louis Duncan. His artwork has also been recognized with numerous awards. Many publications including “Atlantic Monthly,” “Esquire,” “Seventeen,” “Sail,” “The Farmer’s Almanac,” “INC. Magazine” and “The Boston Globe.“ Currently he has drawn the political cartoons for the “Key West Citizen.”
